GreenCape has released its market intelligence report for businesses and investors in the water sector, highlighting water saving opportunities for homes and industry.

Yesterday, during a special First Thursday (2 March 2017) event co-hosted by the Minister for Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde, and GreensCape, GreenCape launched their Water sector 2017 Market Intelligence Report.

The report investigates the cost of water, water use by sector and investment opportunities in the water sector. It also provides insights into the state of water management in the Western Cape and South Africa. The report is freely available from the GreenCape website..

With the Western Cape experiencing its worst drought in 100 years, water specialists are stressing that all residents and businesses should play their part by learning how to conserve resources. The event also showcased affordable and practical ways residents can save water at home. Cape-based suppliers exhibited household water-savings technologies, including rain and greywater systems, and smart metering devices that record water consumption, allow for digital control and help detect leaks.

Raymond Siebrits, GreenCape Water Sector Desk Manager, said: “The current water challenges we are facing present an opportunity for households and businesses to invest in water solutions that not only help immediately, but also allow for resource and money savings in the years to come.”
