GreenCape has been working with companies to showcase examples of the successful reuse of builders’ rubble and demolition waste in the construction industry.
A materials hub in Blackheath, Cape Town, receives between 5 700 and 22 000 cubic metres of builders’ rubble per month from local demolition and construction companies.
By repurposing secondary building materials, Iselula Crushing is able to divert this material from landfill, a landfill air space saving worth between R980 000 – R3.8 million.
