GreenCape, with assistance from the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, has developed interactive maps indicating the location and abattoir throughput for red meat, poultry and ostriches in the Western Cape.
These interactive maps were developed as part of a GreenCape report to highlight investment opportunities in livestock wastes (focusing on manure and abattoirs). They illustrate which regions have a high throughput and thus a high volume of slaughter-related waste.
These interactive maps allow decision makers and project developers to better understand the opportunities for value addition in this region. More detailed information is available in the full report.
