This document presents the outcomes of two years of stakeholder engagement and sets out the rationale and value proposition for a voluntary, collaborative circular textiles initiative in South Africa. It highlights the strategic opportunity for coordinated action across the value chain, alongside the potential economic, social, and environmental benefits of advancing circularity. The continued development of this initiative will be guided by the interest, commitment, and support of value-chain stakeholders. Achieving system-wide change requires collaboration across the value chain, and this initiative aims to bring stakeholders together around a shared vision of developing a circular economy for clothing and textiles in South Africa.
