Kees Kwant, a Senior Expert on Bioenergy and Biobased Economy at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl). Will be visiting the Western Cape after coming to South Africa to take part in the EU circular economy tour from 2 – 5 May and then visiting the Western Cape on 8 – 9 May to meet with local government, academia and industry.
Bio – Kees Kwant
As Senior Expert on Bioenergy and Biobased Economy at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl). Kees Kwant works primarily linking researchers and industry to help develop the biobased economy. He has experience developing and implementing bioenergy in the Netherlands and abroad. He currently holds the Chair of the IEA Bioenergy Implementing Agreement. As well as participating in the EU programme’s “Biomass Policies” project, set up to develop integrated policies for the mobilisation of “resource-efficient” indigenous bioenergy value chains.
Academic Seminar
On Monday 8 May, Kees Kwant will be presenting a open seminar and meeting with local academics working on biobased value addition (See flyer under resources on the left).

Industry Workshop
On Tuesday 9 May Kees Kwant will be one of the presenters at GreenCape’s industry workshop on value addition to livestock value chain residues. This industry workshop will showcase both local and international case studies and provide an opportunity for business to business matching.
