Sweeping Changes to the Paper and Packaging Recycling Industry
Join Minister Alan Winde and GreenCape at the Ministry of Economic Opportunities for May’s First Thursday. Minister Winde uses these events to keep the public and business informed about exciting developments happening in the Green Economy and it’s also an opportunity to chat to the minister himself and other members of the sector.
The focus of May’s event is on recycling and the sweeping changes that are expected in the coming year, most notably the industry waste management plans due for submission in September 2018.

Event Programme
Minister Winde will provide a short welcome and introduction to the importance of recycling and its role in a greener, more circular economy that supports country wide business development and job creation.
Sam will briefly describe the expected changes the paper and packaging industry can expect over the next year; and how these changes may impact the waste supply chain, including collectors, aggregators, recyclers, and brand owners.
19h05-19h25: Material Associations (Various)
Representatives from the material associations POLYCO, PETCO, PASA, PRASA, and TGRC will provide a brief description of who they are as an organisation; what their role is in the recycling sector; and what support they offer to the recycling industry.
19h30 – 21h00: Networking / Wrap up
